1.       Telenor plans to quit doing business in India in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling quashing the 2008 licenses granted and calling for a fresh auction. Telenor stated that close to $2 billion had been already pumped in as part of the company’s plan to make it big in India via their join venture with Unitech – Uninor. 

2.       College starts a company with students as employees - Kalaivani College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has started a company, Majestixx Software Solutions, with a team of 30 students. As in any other software company, the students who have a proper organizational structure of CEO, COO, etc will have to scout for clients, seek IT projects, execute and make money. A share each will be pocketed by the college and the students. At the end of their college term, students can opt to run their company from outside college campus or hand over the reins to their juniors.

3.       Idea Cellular partners with Opera to provide Opera Mini mobile web browser to its subscribers



IT Fact of the Day
Facebook has seen the highest percentage of user addition from India. It registered a 132% growth in total subscribers from India. Indian users in Facebook form the second largest group following US.
